Snoopy’s connection to the Provo Open has a heartwarming origin. In the late 1980s, the Provo Open reached new heights when the Ray and Tye Noorda Family began supporting medical care for children in developing countries through the tournament’s charitable efforts. Around that time, local dermatologist Dr. Rick Parkinson asked his neighbor along 17 Mile Drive—a close friend and renowned cartoonist, Charles Schulz—to design a logo that would bring joy to the children benefiting from the charity. Schulz responded with a unique illustration of Snoopy putting on his doghouse, a one-of-a-kind image that continues to represent the Provo Open to this day. For decades, Snoopy has stood as the cheerful symbol of the tournament’s mission to bring health and happiness to children around the world.
