Leading in Environmental Stewardship
Timpanogos demonstrates strong environmental stewardship by irrigating the entire facility exclusively with reclaimed greywater from the Provo City Treatment Plant. This practice has been in place for over 50 years conserving our states potable water. This recycled water system not only sustains all turf but also filters and returns cleaner water to Utah Lake, enhancing local water quality. Complementing these efforts, the Timp incorporates drought-tolerant grasses and native areas to minimize water needs, while our fleet of electric golf carts—equipped with GPS for precise navigation—reduces emissions and protects our enviromental areas. These sustainable practices ensure the facility operates in harmony with the surrounding ecosystem, preserving Utah’s natural resources for future generations

100 % Self-Sustaining and Continuously Reinvesting
Timpanogos Golf Club operates as a fully self-sustaining municipal facility, generating all its revenue through user fees—without relying on taxpayer subsidies. This financial independence allows Timp to consistently cover operational costs, including maintenance, staffing, and utilities, while consistently reinvesting directly into facility improvements.
From Landfill to Links
Timpanogos Golf Club stands as a testament to visionary reclamation. What is now a lush, thriving municipal golf facility overlooking Utah Lake, it was built upon the former Provo City landfill site when the course relocated and opened as East Bay in 1986. Also being ingeniously designed to function as the city’s flood catch basin for 100-year flood events, helping prevent flooding issues upstream. Through careful capping, soil remediation, thoughtful flood management integration, and innovative design, this once-buried wasteland was reborn into rolling fairways, serene ponds, and native habitats that support diverse wildlife. The dramatic 2020 renovation further elevated the property, restoring its historic Timpanogos name and creating even more flood control and landfill mitigation.

A Home for Everyone
Timpanogos Golf Club serves as a vibrant habitat for a diverse array of wildlife species, seamlessly blending recreation with natural preservation. Guests frequently encounter mule deer grazing on the edges, playful river otters in the ponds and waterways, sly foxes darting through native areas, and a variety of waterfowl and birds thriving throughout the property. The course’s ponds teem with bass, cat fish and other fish species, while turtles bask along the shores, adding to the serene ecosystem. This rich biodiversity not only enhances the golfing experience with unexpected sightings but also underscores the Club’s commitment to maintaining undisturbed natural areas that support Utah’s native flora and fauna.
